Thank Senator Reid for the Government Shutdown
Washington, DC,
October 1, 2013
The U.S. House of Representatives voted on three proposed Continuing Resolutions to fully fund the government while either delaying or defunding the President’s takeover of healthcare. Upon arrival to the Senate, Senator Harry Reid chose to table and kill the proposed measures. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) issued the following statement: “President Obama has shown he is willing to come to the negotiating table with terrorists, but not with Republicans who are looking to protect the American people. Unlike the House, the President and Senate Majority continue to ignore the will of the people; their lack of leadership has forced our government to shut down. If the President and the Senate Majority wants to get out of this mess, they must come to the table and negotiate with the House.” ### |
