Senate Votes to Fund Obamacare

Today, the Senate voted for an amendment that would strip the House’s measure to fully fund everything except for ObamaCare. The amendment passed with a vote of 54-44. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement:

“Over the past two weeks Americans across the nation have been pleading with their elected officials to do everything they could to defund the President’s hostile takeover of healthcare. Today, Senator Reid and his minions chose to move the nation one step closer to a government shutdown by ignoring the taxpayers’ wishes; stripping out the defund ObamaCare measure, the Republican-led House passed last Friday, in a Continuing Resolution that would fully fund the government until December 15, 2013.
