WEBER VOTES TO DEFUND PRESIDENT’S HOSTILE GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER OF HEALTHCARE
Washington, DC,
September 20, 2013
Today, the House voted on a Continuing Resolution that would fund the Federal government at current levels through December 15, 2013. The Continuing Resolution included a measure that would defund the President’s healthcare law. This law has been causing insurance premiums to skyrocket and businesses to cut full-time employees to part-time to prepare for the onerous mandates ObamaCare imposes on job creators. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement: “Today, we took a fundamental step in the right direction to finally get rid of a law that is wreaking havoc on hard-working Americans and stifling our nation’s economy. The House took action and passed this Continuing Resolution, to avoid a government shutdown and to defund the President’s takeover of healthcare. Now, the responsibility lies with the Senate. If this burden is to be taken off the backs of hard-working Americans and our job creators, the Senate must act.” ### |
