Rep. Weber Statement on Republican Conference Chair ,
May 12, 2021
WASHINGTON D.C. – Wednesday, May 12, 2021, U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX-14) issued the following statement regarding the decision replace Congresswoman Liz Cheney as chair of the House Republican Conference:
"Today, by voice vote, the Republican Conference chose overwhelmingly to remove U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney as chair of the House Republican Conference. Rep. Cheney was, unfortunately, out-of-step with a majority of the conference; therefore, it was simply time for a change in leadership. That said, we owe Rep. Cheney a debt of gratitude for stepping up to lead the conference at a difficult time. I wish her only the best. Now, we are moving forward to focus on America’s priorities, and that is a good thing."
