Weber Votes for Obamacare Repeal Stops $500 Billion in Tax Increase
Washington, DC,
May 16, 2013
In an effort to repeal the President’s government takeover of health care, Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) voted for the Obamacare Repeal that reached the House floor today. Congressman Weber made the following statement: “With the recent revelations of IRS targeting conservative organizations, the public trust in government is at an all-time low. Government has no place in the health care business or in the doctor-patient relationship. This is why I voted for the repeal of Obamacare. The President claimed that this law will provide affordable health care to everyone, yet we are seeing insurance companies forecasting a 400 percent premium increase. In Texas, we could see premium increases up to 43 percent in the individual market, and up to 23 percent in the small group market. That is outrageous! This “train wreck” must be repealed in order for us to forge on and work toward the right kind of reform that lowers costs, improves the quality of care, and protects jobs.” ### |
