Congressman Weber Introduces First Resolution to Support Construction of Keystone Pipeline

Congressman Randy Weber (R-Texas) introduced a resolution (H. Res 214) which highlights the results of the State Department’s exhaustive environmental review of the Keystone XL Pipeline. Congressman Weber made the statement below on his first piece of legislation:

“I am extremely proud that my first resolution as a United States Congressman will help move forward a project that will greatly impact my district in Texas. I have been at the forefront of this topic since October 2011 when I provided my opinion during a public meeting at the Bob Bowers Civic Center in Port Arthur.

The President and the State Department have had 1,699 days to exhaust all their options. It is time to build. The Keystone XL Pipeline is our country’s opportunity to become a leader in the energy industry, to create jobs, to help grow our economy and put us on a path to energy independence and security.”
