Washington, D.C. – Friday, January 08, 2021 U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX-14) U.S. issued the following statement on the passing of U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick: 

"Every day we, members of Congress and staff, enter the Capitol complex free from fear because of our brave Capitol police. Many are our friends; we greet them, we joke with them, we trust them with our lives. On Wednesday, as violent protesters besieged the U.S. Capitol, Officer Brian Sicknick bravely performed his duties by protecting everyone inside. He gave his life in defense of law and order and civility.

"I am heartbroken. Along with my entire staff, Brenda and I are praying for Officer Sicknick’s family and his fellow officers, as they mourn the loss of their loved one. We will be forever grateful for his bravery and heroism."
