Washington, D.C. – Monday, February 8, 2021 U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (TX-14) issued the following statement on the passing of Representative Ron Wright (TX-6): 

"Last night, we lost a fellow Texan, a true patriot and a friend.  Representative Ron Wright, a fellow member of the Freedom Caucus, dedicated his life to working for the people of Texas. He was a servant of the Most High GOD. Through his many years of public service, Ron personified what it means to be a conservative.  He always fought for his constituents and to secure our founding principles with integrity.  Although Ron will truly be missed, his contributions to the people of Texas and our nation – not to mention his trademark bowtie -- will always be remembered. 

"I was truly blessed to call Ron not only a colleague but a friend. Brenda and I are deeply saddened by the news of his passing. We will see him again. As JESUS promised in John 16:22: 'Therefore, you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.'

"In the meantime, our prayers are with his wife, Susan, and their three children during this challenging time."
