Today, the Manchin-Toomey bill was defeated in the Senate by a 54-46 vote. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement:
“The Manchin-Toomey bill went up in flames on the Senate floor. This legislation, which was touted to have bi-partisan support, was a direct attack on our 2nd Amendment Rights. Make no mistake, I will stand toe-to-toe with my constituents and take direct aim to shoot down any legislation that will diminish our God-given right to keep and bear arms.”
