Weber announces Head Start grant award to Beaumont Independent School District

Washington, D.C. – August 6, 2020, U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX-14) announces Head Start grant award, totaling more than $3 million, to the Beaumont Independent School.

Head Start, a federal program within the Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families, promotes school readiness for children under five from low-income families through education, health, social and other services via local non-profit organizations.  Head Start supplies resources to enhance children’s early learning and school readiness, physical and mental health, and family well-being.  Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide services to over a million children every year, in every U.S. state and territory.

Weber stated, “I am elated that Beaumont Independent School District will receive $3,292,576! With this award, our Beaumont children will have access to programs that will ensure they are prepared to enter kindergarten. As Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, ‘We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.’”
