Weber Statement on Lack of Border Security in Final FY18 Appropriations

Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, February 14, 2019, the U.S. House of Representatives voted on FY18 Appropriations funding for the remaining agencies. The final vote was 300-128, Congressman Randy Weber (R – Friendswood) voted against the bill. Congressman Weber released the following statement:

β€œIn Texas, we know there is a national emergency on our southern border. Many of my colleagues are not taking it seriously enough. We need to stop ignoring the problem and fully address the porous border, immigration loopholes, and the lack of resources for both Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection. This piecemeal approach to matters of serious concern is petty politics forced on us by the Democrats. The American people deserve better.”
