Today, the President and Vice President spoke to the Nation announcing 23 new executive actions and comprehensive legislation on gun control.

I believe in working with my colleagues in Congress towards a stronger, safer America, but not in a way that would infringe upon our God-given rights as protected by the Constitution. The President himself admitted that stricter gun laws will not stop these evil acts from occurring. Restricting the rights of law abiding citizens only reduces their ability to protect themselves, and will in no way deter those who act completely outside the law.

I am open to discussing formative legislation that will help protect the public from dangerous criminals, but I will not stand for diminishing our 2nd amendment rights.
