Washington, D.C. – On Saturday, August 25, 2018, Senator John McCain passed away surrounded by his family. Congressman Randy Weber (R – Friendswood) released the following statement:

“Senator John McCain was a true hero and one of the last great statesmen. He lived to serve our country, whether through military service or by representing the people of Arizona. Senator McCain left an indelible mark on our nation, always reminding us to stand up for what we believe - even if it means we are standing alone. His integrity and commitment to this great nation will remain an example for us to follow. While his leadership will be missed, his enduring legacy will not be forgotten. Our nation mourns with Cindy and the McCain family as we say goodbye to one of our greatest American patriots.”
