Washington, D.C. β On Thursday, June 28, 2018, the U.S. House of Representatives passed Fiscal Year 19 Defense Appropriations. The bill passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, 359 votes to 49. Following the vote, Congressman Randy Weber (R β Friendswood) released the following statement:
βThe vote we cast today demonstrates our support for our brave military men and women. For the world to be safe, America must be strong. We are rebuilding our armed forces, restoring military readiness, and supporting our troops. For years, our military suffered under budget cuts. That was unacceptable. With this round of appropriations, we are ensuring our military has all the tools necessary to restore its strength, repair its equipment, and keep our men and women in uniform safe.β ### |
