Weber Votes for First Round 2018 Appropriations
Washington,
June 8, 2018
Washington, D.C. – On Friday, June 8, 2018, the House passed the first set of appropriations bills: Energy and Water Appropriations, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations, and Legislative Branch Appropriations. Following passage of the series of bills, Congressman Randy Weber (R – Friendswood) released the following statement: “Through our Energy division, we target funds to increase our national security by way of nuclear energy research and modernization of our nation’s electric grid. These are two fields ripe for development. “We focus resources on our veterans and military. They bravely wore our nation’s uniform, and we are committed to their care and support. We provide appropriate funding for medical care, guidelines for oversight, and funding for the structural support needed by our military families and wounded troops. “Additionally, we specifically direct funds to our Capitol Police. These extraordinary men and women protect our guests, grounds, and staff. The better they are funded, the safer we all are. “I am pleased to see these bills go through the regular order of committee and House floor procedure. The Senate must act this year to appropriate funding. These bills cannot sit idly-by in the Senate awaiting further action.” ### |
