2018 Congressional Art Competition

Washington, D.C. – The annual Congressional Art Competition is underway. Congressman Randy Weber (R – Friendswood) encourages all high school students to participate in the 2018 competition. The guidelines are as follows:
o Art cannot exceed 26 inches x 26 inches x 4 inches. It must weigh less than15 pounds. o Paintings, drawings, computer generated art, collages, prints, mixed media, and photography are acceptable mediums. o All entries must be original and sustainable. Drop off or pre-arranged pick up will take place April 9 – April 12. Art will be judged the week of April 16, and the winner and local reception date will be announced shortly afterward. The winning piece will be displayed in Cannon Tunnel of the United States Capitol Building, and the winner will receive two roundtrip tickets to DC for the reception held on June 27, 2018. The runners-up will have their artwork displayed in the Congressman’s district offices.
