Weber Response to 2018 State of the Union

Washington, D.C. – On Tuesday, January 30, 2018, President Donald Trump delivered his first State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress. The policies discussed are building blocks for a safe, strong, and proud America. Following the address, Congressman Randy Weber (R – Friendswood) released the following statement:

“President Donald Trump delivered a powerful State of the Union address. The nation’s achievements from the last year are remarkable – record stock market highs; trillions of dollars in new wealth; confidence among consumers, businesses, and manufacturing at its highest in decades; unemployment at its lowest level in years; overall economic growth; fewer crippling regulations; and more.

“In a previous speech, the President remarked that his administration would be one of new leadership, new strategies, and new hope. He has accomplished this. When he sees a problem, he tells it like it is and reaches out to help in the best way he knows how. I applaud the President for his efforts and accomplishments on behalf of the American people.

“There is always work to be done – infrastructure, immigration, national security, healthcare, energy, and jobs and the economy are just a handful of the issues we are working on daily. Congress and the President are hard at work for the American people. I look forward to the many achievements 2018 holds. The American Dream is alive and well.”
