Washington,
December 6, 2017
Washington, D.C. – President Donald Trump announced the U.S. will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and work towards relocating the U.S. Embassy there. Congressman Randy Weber (R – Friendswood) released the following statement:
“With today's announcement, we are finally officially stating what is a well-known fact. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, and we are finally adhering to our own decades-old law in relocating our embassy there as well. I applaud the President for moving forward with this course of action. “Israel is an incredible nation and our strongest ally in the Middle East. This is truly remarkable news. For far too long, we acted with cowardice and abandonment. Not anymore. We are acting with strength and in loyalty. Our commitment to Israel is unwavering. Jerusalem is the true seat of the government of Israel.”
