Houston boosts its congressional delegation from ten to 12 with swearing in of two newcomers

Two Republicans from the greater Houston area joined the House of Representatives today as freshmen members of Congress to boost the number of Houston-area lawmakers from 10 to 12. Rep. Randy Weber, of Pearland, and Rep. Steve Stockman, of Friendswood, were sworn in to the $174,000-a-year jobs on Capitol Hill along with the remainder of Texas’ 36-member House delegation.
