Weber Issues Statement on FBI Director’s Decision on Hillary Clinton
Washington, DC,
July 5, 2016
Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) released the following statement on FBI Director James Comey’s decision to not recommend charges be leveled against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: “Hillary Clinton lied to the American people, and put our national security and personnel at great risk when she chose convenience over safety. Earlier today, FBI Director James Comey held a press conference calling former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton extremely careless with the most secret, top-level, and sensitive national security information. On numerous occasions, Hillary Clinton has pointedly lied to the American people when she denied that she ever sent sensitive materials through her personal server. However, It’s no secret that Clinton sent and received highly sensitive email correspondence here at home and while she was in foreign countries with the highest level of cyber espionage capability. However, after all of this information came to light, Director Comey announces that the FBI will not be going any further with the investigation and that he does not recommend she be charged with a crime. Any other American citizen would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I hope the American people think twice before they elect someone who acts so recklessly.” ### |
