House Passes National Defense Authorization Act
Washington, DC,
May 18, 2016
Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) released the following statement on the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA): “The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) will help close the readiness gap our military is currently facing by providing much needed funding – ensuring our service members are equipped with the proper tools and resources. This authorization will also streamline the process of procuring the latest technology, and will increase transparency to ensure taxpayer dollars are being spent responsibly. The hardworking men and women serving our country will be receiving a much-needed raise that will allow them to provide for their families while they work tirelessly to defend our country. The NDAA will also keep dangerous terrorists at the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility, and prohibit the transferring of GITMO detainees to the United States. Our military readiness is paramount to protecting our nation. I am doing my part to ensure our military response will be prepared and ready.” |
