Congressman Weber Votes to Block EPA's WOTUS Rule
Washington, DC,
January 13, 2016
Congressman Randy Weber (TX-14) released the following statement on the passage of S.J. Res. 22, the joint Congressional resolution disapproving of the “Waters of the United States” rule, which now heads to the President’s desk: “The President’s Waters of the United States rule is being presented as a water cleanup initiative. However, this rule is just a front for the EPA to gain more control by expanding federal jurisdiction over navigable waterways. Regulations like this are created by bloated bureaucratic agencies and only hurt hard-working Americans. In last night’s State of the Union address, the President mentioned how he would like to ‘scale back’ regulations. If he chooses to veto this resolution, it will be clear to all Americans that those words were just empty promises.” ### |
