Rep. Weber Votes against Omnibus Part One

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (TX-14) released the following statement after voting against the first omnibus:

"After five months of terrible continuing resolutions and promises of better outcomes with individual spending bills, Congress turned its back on the American people and passed part one of a $1.65 trillion omnibus spending bill. I promised Southeast Texas that we would fight to reduce Washington's wasteful spending and ensure that we didn't dig ourselves deeper into debt; this bill does the complete opposite. I cannot, in good conscience, vote to continue to fund “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DEI) and Critical Race Theory curricula, disastrous border policies, COVID vaccine mandates, and a weaponized DOJ. We must get a grip on the out-of-control spending rather than continuing down the same reckless path."
