Rep. Weber Statement on National Defense Authorization Act

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (TX-14) released the following statement after voting against the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2024:

“In July, the House Republicans passed the most conservative NDAA in history: it ended Joe Biden’s taxpayer-funded travel abortions, stopped taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries, and halted the Left’s radical climate agenda. I was proud to vote for this bill and knew compromise from the Senate was inevitable. Unfortunately, the NDAA we voted on today is wrong for America. We are the United States of America, the strongest military force in the world, and it is time we start acting like it instead of pushing Joe Biden’s radical priorities onto our military.”

“Even worse, the NDAA has attached a completely unrelated “clean” reauthorization of FISA with zero reforms. It is imperative that we strengthen our Fourth Amendment and stop the corrupt upper echelon of the federal government from spying on everyday Americans.  Unfortunately, today, Congress reauthorized the status quo.”
