Rep. Weber Preserves American’s Vehicle Choice

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (TX-14) voted in favor of H.R. 4468, the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales (CARS) Act, which protects consumer choice by prohibiting Biden's Environmental Protection Agency from finalizing, implementing, or enforcing any proposed rule with regards to emissions from vehicles. Rep. Weber is an original co-sponsor of the CARS Act.

"The EPA's electric vehicles proposal serves as a de facto ban that will eliminate choice, distort the market, and restrict consumer choice while costing taxpayers more,” said Rep. Weber. “Not to mention, the push to make E.V.s the only choice for U.S. car buyers without first building out our domestic supply chains for critical minerals is a recipe for dependence on China and, by extension, defaulting to their filthy environmental practices. China is not our friend, and unlike China's treatment of its own citizens, we should not dictate to Americans what they can or cannot drive. In America, we let consumers choose the car they drive."

Rep. Weber spoke on the House floor in support of the CARS Act.
