Today, the United States House of Representatives voted on H.R. 3762, the “Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015.” This legislation would repeal core pieces of the President’s healthcare law. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement:

“Premiums are rising and healthcare coverage is continuing to diminish as the President’s burdensome healthcare law remains in place. This legislation will allow us to finally dismantle the most harmful portions of this onerous healthcare law. It will empower hardworking families to find affordable coverage and protect the sanctity of life.”

The legislation will defund Planned Parenthood, as well as repeal the individual mandate, employer mandate, the medical device tax and the prevention slush-fund. According to the Congressional Budget Office, H.R. 3762 would reduce the deficit by $130 billion over 10 years.
