Weber Votes to Protect Life
Washington, DC,
September 29, 2015
Today, the United States House of Representatives voted on H.R. 3495, the Women’s Public Health and Safety Act. The measure passed by a vote of 236 to 193. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement: “The State of Texas has championed efforts to defund abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood, since 2011. The President’s Administration has flagrantly disregarded the Tenth Amendment in the pursuit of their radical anti-life agenda. This legislation will allow Texas to divert taxpayer dollars away from the destruction of human life, and instead fund programs that provide health services for women and their growing families. States should not be penalized for protecting the sanctity of life. While the battle to protect the unborn is not over, our actions in the House place us one step closer to preventing the future murder of innocent life.” ### |
