Weber Introduces FREE Act
Washington, DC,
July 29, 2015
Today, Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) introduced H.R. 3425, the Firearm Rights Equally Enforced (FREE) Act of 2015, which would allow Americans to have their valid state open-carry or concealed-carry permits recognized nationwide. Since 2007, concealed-carry permits have increased by 156-percent for men and 270-percent for women according to a study by the Crime Prevention Research Center. During this same period, the national murder rate fell to 4.2 people per 100,000 from 5.6 per 100,000 between. Criminals recognize that more permits means it is riskier to attack their victims. “My bill would allow responsible gun owners the right to carry nationwide,” said Congressman Randy Weber. “By allowing licensed gun owners to carry in all 50 states, it affords them the opportunity to protect their property and the ones they love.” Bill text can be found here. ### |
