Weber Challenges EPA Administrator
Washington, DC,
July 9, 2015
Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) regularly challenges the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and their costly regulations. This week, the Congressman offered an amendment to the Interior and EPA appropriations bill that would require the EPA to follow the law and conduct ongoing evaluations of how the agency’s regulations impact American jobs. This amendment passed by voice vote on Wednesday night. In addition, the Congressman questioned EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy on the agency’s costly regulations during a full committee hearing Thursday in the Science, Space and Technology Committee. “The EPA has a track record of unelected bureaucrats pushing regulations without truly understanding the impact these rules have on our job creators,” said Rep. Weber. “Since 2009, our job creators have faced an onslaught of regulations from the EPA, even as Congress has consistently reduced the agency’s budget year after year. It is unacceptable for Presidents or EPA Administrators to cherry pick the law based on their own ideological agenda.” EPA Amendment Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdyg8qtREMI EPA Admin Hearing Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlDfLAhwY6M&feature=youtu.be ### |
