Weber Acts to Block Obama's Executive Amnesty

The House passed legislation - H.R. 240, the Fiscal Year 2015 Homeland Security Appropriations Act - that would block the President’s executive action on amnesty. Representative Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement:

“The President has made it clear that he will use his pen and phone to advance his liberal agenda. However, the President has underestimated the House and the power of the purse. In addition to providing important resources to the Department of Homeland Security, this legislation will also prohibit the Administration from misusing funds and prevent the President from acting unilaterally on immigration policy. Unconstitutional executive action to grant amnesty to 5 million illegal aliens is not a solution to our broken immigration system. The President must work with Congress, not work around it.”
