Rep. Weber Votes Against Democrats’ “Lame Duck” Continuing Resolution

Washington, D.C. -U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (TX-14) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 6833, a continuing resolution that empowers Democrats to pass a massive spending package in the upcoming lame duck session of Congress.

"Here we are again with Democrats voting for a short-term spending bill because they continue to push their radical tax-and-spend agenda on the American people and neglect to perform the basic role of government," said Rep. Weber. "It's time to put the shovel down and, at the very least, stop digging us further into debt, but the Democrats would rather inflict more financial burden on the American people—including our grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This bill sets the stage for a "lame duck" fight after the midterm elections on government out-of-control funding, giving the Democrats one final opportunity to pass their radical agenda. Not one more penny should go to the Biden administration until we address runaway inflation, the supply chain and energy crisis, the border crisis, or the opioid deaths associated with drugs like fentanyl pouring across our open southern border."
