Rep. Weber votes against Democrats’ Reckless Tax and Spending Spree

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (TX-14) released a statement following his vote against the so-called Inflation Reduction Act.

“While our country is in the middle of a recession and Americans are paying more for everyday goods, the Democrats have once again tried to spend their way out of the inflation caused by their own reckless spending,” said Rep. Weber. “Make no mistake: this quote-unquote Inflation Reduction Act will increase taxes on American businesses, add a new gas tax, hurt our energy companies, call for the hiring of thousands of additional IRS 'agents and auditors' to target all incomes - not just those over $400,000, and invest billions in the Left's radical Green New Deal. I voted against this monstrosity because the provisions of this bill will cause severe damage to our – already broken – economy and hurt Texas families. We must rein in out-of-control government spending immediately. Americans depend on it.”
