Weber Votes to Protect Hardworking Americans Current Health Plans
Washington, DC,
September 11, 2014
The United States House of Representatives voted today on H.R. 3522, the Employee Health Care Protection Act, which passed in a bipartisan fashion by a vote of 247 to 167. The legislation seeks to protect American workers by allowing health insurance plans, currently available on the group market, to continue to be offered through 2019. Representative Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement: “The President’s takeover of health care is riddled with broken promises. Today, the House took action to protect hardworking Americans from losing their health care plans. Now, Americans who like their health plan can actually keep it. Allowing these insurance plans to stay on the market will give a sense of security and relief to families trying to manage their budget and still maintain suitable insurance for their loved ones.” ### |
