Energy Week in the House, Means Jobs for Texas 14
Washington, DC,
June 25, 2014
This week marks “Energy Week” in the United States House of Representatives. Today, the House passed the Domestic Prosperity and Global Freedom Act (H.R. 6) by a vote of 266 to 150, and now heads to the Senate. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement: “The energy industry and hardworking Americans received a big win today with the passing of the Domestic Prosperity and Global Freedom Act. Liquefied natural gas output in the United States has dramatically increased in recent years providing more than enough to cover domestic needs. By allowing the export of additional liquefied natural gas, we can increase our energy independence and add 665,000 jobs to the U.S. economy. Home to several LNG export facilities including two in TX-14, Texas looks to gain 155,000 of these new jobs. This will not only help grow our economy, but create good-paying jobs to help hardworking Americans.” ### |
