Representative Weber's Statement on the 70th Anniversary of D-Day
Washington, DC,
June 6, 2014
Rep. Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) issued the following statement in memory of the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day invasion: “Seventy years ago, our brave men in uniform stormed the beaches of Normandy. More than 160,000 Allied troops landed on the French coastline and more than 9,000 were killed or injured. Today, we remember the courageous souls who fought for our freedom. It was on June 6, 1944 when the course of history was changed and the end of World War II began. May GOD bless the ‘Greatest Generation’, as well as the men and women currently serving our nation, and may GOD bless America.” ### |
