Weber Signs onto Bipartisan Letter to EPA
Washington, DC,
May 28, 2014
Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) and 29 other members of the Texas delegation penned a letter to Administrator Gina McCarthy of the Environmental Protection Agency expressing bipartisan concern over the EPA’s plans to impose new carbon dioxide regulations on existing power plants. Congressman Weber made the following statement: “These unprecedented new regulations on the production of energy are unnecessary and will only end up increasing electricity rates, stifle our economy, and reduce employment. Because Texas has adopted policies that encourage job creation, more people are coming to our state, and electricity demand is increasing. The EPA should not be imposing regulations that will prevent Texas from meeting the energy demands of its citizens by providing reliable and affordable electricity.” ### You can find the letter to Administrator Gina McCarthy here. |
