GET PREPARED DURING SEVERE WEATHER AWARENESS WEEK

Governor Perry announced via proclamation that Severe Weather Awareness Week will be March 2nd through the 8th.

“How prepared you are before severe weather hits could mean life or death,” said Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood). “I’m encouraging my constituents to take the time to stock up on necessary items, have an evacuation plan, and ensure that every member of the family knows how to react in the event of life-threatening.”

For anyone interested in learning more regarding how to take the necessary steps to be better prepared for violent storm weather, the Texas Department of Public Safety have a portion of their site dedicated to severe weather awareness.

“I cannot stress enough how important planning and preparation improve the ability to save lives and property. Texas 14 has many communities along the Gulf Coast, and it is important that everyone is properly educated and prepared, especially during the months of March, April and May when we see a greater chance of damaging thunderstorms, hail storms, high winds, tornadoes and flooding.”
