Weber to Obama: No More Excuses on Keystone XL

Today, the U.S. State Department released their final Environmental Impact Statement regarding the Keystone XL Pipeline. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) issued the following statement:

“The final Environmental Impact Statement from the U.S. State Department shows that the Obama Administration is running out of excuses to continue delaying the approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline permit. It has been over five years, and we have a compelling national interest to move forward with this project. The Keystone XL Pipeline would create thousands of good paying jobs, generate new spending in the U.S. economy, and has limited adverse environmental impacts.

More than 70-percent of Americans want to see this project move forward. Instead of working around Congress to push his own agenda forward, President Obama should consider using his ‘phone and pen’ to start creating jobs and putting America on a path toward energy independence and security.”
