Dear Friend,
Happy Spring!
Some highlights from last week were touring Gulf Coast Asphalt and the Southeast Texas Food Bank, speaking with local business and industry leaders at the Golden Triangle Business Roundtable, and celebrating UTMB’s opening of their Clear Lake Campus. Across our GREAT district, we are seeing great things happen, and it’s because of YOUR hard work and commitment to our community.

Southeast Texas Food Bank does great things for our community! I really enjoyed visiting with them and discussing their plans for expansion as they continue serving our fellow Texans. |

UTMB Clear Lake Campus Hospital ribbon cutting was a great milestone for the hospital system, and I was honored to speak that evening. Whether you’re a patient or an employee, UTMB treats you like family.
In our region and to Texans everywhere, UTMB is well-known. They employ thousands of Texans and care for many thousands more. Additionally, they train and educate our future medical professionals. With the opening of the Clear Lake campus, care is now closer to home.
It’s that time of year again – the Congressional Art Competition! I encourage all high school artists to participate. The winning entry will be displayed among the works of fellow student-artists in the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. for the following year. Pieces of art receiving honorable mention will be displayed in our district offices. The submission deadline for competition entries is Friday, April 12. Art will be judged the week of April 15, and the winner and local reception date will be announced shortly thereafter.
Additional information and participation rules are posted here: weber.house.gov/constituent-services/arts-competition.htm

Our 2018 winner was Brooke Langston from Friendswood High School. Her winning piece is titled “T-Bone.” |
