Dear Friend,
Where to begin? The outdated tax code and headaches that came with it are officially a thing of the past; private recreational red snapper fishermen can celebrate the announcement of an 82 day season; and nearly 7 months after Harvey, help still remains. Experts are in and around the area, and they are happy to share their tips and tricks for how to best construct, rebuild, and repair.
As we gather with family and friends this weekend, may we all remember the gifts our former first lady Barbara Bush shared with our nation. Her love of country was bested only by her love for her family. She will be dearly missed.
In the spirit of our great state: Today, April 21, marks the 182nd anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto. We won our independence thanks to the wit of Sam Houston. Remember the Alamo, and GOD bless Texas!
Sincerely,

Randy K. Weber

Out with the old Tax code |
This week was the LAST time we had to file our taxes using the old, broken system. When we go to file our taxes next year, the vast majority of Americans will be able to file their taxes on a document the size of a postcard. No more headaches, no more frustrations, just a fair and simple tax code.
We are celebrating lower tax rates for Americans, nearly doubled standard deductions, doubled tax credits, relief from Obamacare’s individual mandate, and a simpler filing process.
You don’t have to look far to see the positive effects the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is bringing to our families, businesses, and economy. Everyone has a story to tell. Share yours with us: bit.ly/TX14TaxReformStories

red snapper update |
Earlier this week, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) announced that Texas private recreational red snapper anglers will have 82 days this season, beginning June 1. Bag and size limits remain the same. In federal waters: 2 fish per person per day, 16-inch size minimum. In state waters: 4 fish per person per day, 15-inch size minimum.
The federally permitted for-hire sector will remain in its current management structure. Their 2018 season is set at 51 days, also beginning June 1.
This year's season for recreational fishermen is 40 days more than last year! GREAT news for our recreational anglers.
You can help TPWD better manage red snapper by downloading the iSnapper app and reporting your red snapper landings. |
