Dear Friend,
What a week. Congrats to the Astros and congrats to all you fans! Don't you love being a Texan? I know I do.
Before diving into Harvey updates and tax reform, I'd like to say a few words about the act of terror that took place on Tuesday... My heart goes out to the families and friends who lost loved ones, and to those in New York City who waited with bated breath during minutes that I imagine lasted a lifetime. We have seen some difficult moments this year, and once again, the first responders and citizens on the street acted selflessly and courageously. Thank you and GOD bless.
Sincerely,

Randy K. Weber

tax reform |
On Thursday, Congressman Kevin Brady, Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and a fellow Texan, introduced the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act legislation. Many Americans and Main Street small business owners are burdened by the monstrosity of our tax code. Tax reform is much needed, and this bill is still a working document subject to change. Know that I’m excited to discuss the details with y'all and bring working Americans tax relief.
The federal tax code is 70,000 pages long. That’s more than twice as long as the Bible, with none of the good news. This reform has been a long time coming.
I strongly encourage you to check out the tax reform page: www.fairandsimple.gop. Read the bill, the changes it plans to make, and let me know what you think. I was elected to serve the people of Texas 14, and this responsibility is one I take very seriously. |
