6 Months

President Trump has been back in office for just six months, and already like he said, it's been one of the most consequential periods in American history. I firmly believe we’re on a stronger, more focused path than we’ve seen in years. From the border to the economy, we are seeing real leadership and real results. Russia Hoax

Russia Hoax

This week, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard confirmed what many of us have known, and said, for years: after President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016, President Obama and his national security team weaponized our intelligence agencies in an attempt to sabotage the President Trump.

Thanks to the long-overdue declassification of a report by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, we now have overwhelming evidence proving the so-called “Russia collusion” narrative was nothing more than a politically motivated hit job, cooked up by Obama-era officials and perpetuated by their friends in the mainstream media. For eight years, the CIA kept this report under lock and key. Now, it sees the light of day, and it confirms what patriotic Americans suspected all along: the Russia hoax was engineered at the highest levels of government.

This wasn’t just politics. This was an attempted coup.

President Obama and his allies in the intelligence community knowingly produced a flawed, highly politicized Intelligence Community Assessment. It was used to give credence to a narrative they knew was false, all to delegitimize President Trump’s victory and cast doubt on the will of the American people

.

The deep state’s efforts to undermine President Trump weren’t just an attack on one man, they were an attack on our democracy, our institutions, and every American who voted to send a political outsider to the White House to drain the swamp.

Let’s be clear: this was never about Russia. It was always about power, about a ruling class so threatened by President Trump and the American people that they were willing to shred the Constitution to hold onto it.

The American people deserve the truth. They deserve accountability. And I will never stop fighting to expose the deep state, defend our Republic, and uphold the founding principles that make this country the greatest on Earth.

We were right all along.

Stopping Illegal Entry—Restoring the Rule of Law

Terror

Under the failed leadership of Joe Biden, more than 10 million unvetted illegal immigrants poured into our country from over 160 nations, including some designated as State Sponsors of Terrorism. Even more alarming, over 400 individuals on the terrorist watch list were caught attempting to enter our nation during his presidency.

Biden’s border crisis is no accident. It’s the result of reckless open-border policies, a refusal to enforce existing immigration law, and a complete lack of accountability. Between January 2021 and January 2024, the Biden Administration prosecuted fewer than 1,000 illegal entry cases a month, sending a clear signal to the world that breaking our laws would carry little to no consequence.

Let me be clear: when illegal migrants cross our border with impunity, especially repeat offenders, it’s not just an immigration issue, it’s a public safety issue. In fiscal year 2023 alone, over 70% of illegal reentrants had criminal records. That’s unacceptable.

This week, House Republicans passed H.R. 3486 – the Stop Illegal Entry Act, introduced by Rep. Stephanie Bice. This bill strengthens our immigration laws by increasing penalties for those who illegally enter or reenter the United States, especially those with prior criminal convictions. These tougher penalties are designed to deter repeat offenders and give prosecutors more tools to hold illegal immigrants accountable, something the Biden Administration failed to do.

Under President Trump, illegal crossings plummeted as we prioritized border security and law enforcement. This legislation helps us get back to that standard, reestablishing the rule of law, protecting American families, and putting an end to the chaos at our southern border.

I proudly voted for this bill because Texans, and all Americans, deserve secure borders, safe communities, and a government that enforces the law.

Around the District

Around the District

On Friday night, I joined BayTran and the League City Chamber of Commerce at their event on the Kemah Boardwalk. It was great to visit with some outstanding folks who are working every day to strengthen our region.

While I was in Washington during the week, Team Weber was hard at work across the district. They attended the Friendswood Community Prayer Breakfast at Trinity Fellowship Church and also stopped by the Galveston County Commissioners Court Special Meeting to stay updated on local priorities.

Team Weber joined the ribbon cuttings for Brown Plumbing and Sorella’s in Nederland, two great examples of the entrepreneurial spirit that keeps Southeast Texas strong.

They also traveled to Galveston for the WGMA Houston Membership Meeting to discuss the exciting updates surrounding the new cruise terminal, another sign of growth and opportunity in our coastal region.

Yesterday, they attended Texas A&M Maritime Academy’s Homeward Bound event and heard directly from cadets about their summer at sea aboard the TS Kennedy. These young men and women represent the future of our maritime workforce, and I’m proud of their hard work.

In Angleton, Team Weber visited The Den at Angleton High School, a newly opened resource center that provides essentials like clothing, toiletries, and food for students in need. It’s also a safe, welcoming space for those who may feel left out or overlooked. I’m thankful for those in our community who care enough to make a difference in these students' lives.

Team Weber also attended the Beaumont Fire Department’s Pinning and Promotion Ceremony, where we honored eight retirees, celebrated eight well-earned promotions, recognized 20-year service awards, welcomed 14 new hires, and applauded three lifesaving award recipients. We are forever grateful for the brave men and women who put on the uniform and serve our communities with courage and commitment.
