Dear friends,
Last week, after Congress passed legislation to ease the burden faced by small businesses during the COVID-19 epidemic, the Trump Administration launched the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). PPP allows small businesses to receive funds to retain their employees and keep up with day-to-day operating expenses. Already, the Small Business Administration (SBA), along with the Treasury Department, reported that 13,669 loans valued at $4.3 billion had been processed.
At the request of the Chambers of Commerce of Brazoria County, I will be hosting a special telephone town hall inviting all business owners and lenders from Brazoria County to join me in a discussion to answer your questions regarding new federal guidelines and programs related to the PPP and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Emergency Advance. Experts from the Small Business Administration and the Independent Bankers Association of Texas will be on the call and ready to answer your questions.
