Jackson Women’s Health Organization This week, in an unprecedented move, Politico reported on a leaked initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito regarding the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case.  A Supreme Court decision has NEVER been leaked to the press in modern history, and Congressional Democrats will use this leak as a weapon. They will use this to attempt to end the Senate filibuster so they can provide taxpayer-funded on-demand abortion up until and after birth and pack the Supreme Court with radicals, who will serve as a rubber stamp for their Far-Left Socialist agenda.  This is not the first time Democrats have attempted to intimidate Supreme Court justices over abortion related cases. Back in March 2020, Senator Schumer took to the steps of the Supreme Court, naming Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, while threatening, “You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won't know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.” THE FACTS ABOUT LIFE: An unborn child is a human life. Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization is a case involving a Mississippi law that limits abortion after 15 weeks. AT 6 WEEKS: The unborn baby has a heartbeat of approximately 98 beats per minute. Blood vessels are forming into the circulatory system. The brain is rapidly developing. BY 10 WEEKS: The unborn baby has arms and legs, fingers and toes.The unborn baby is sucking his or her thumb.The unborn baby can now sigh, stretch, move his or her head, mouth, and tongue.The baby can kick and will jump if startled.The unborn baby’s pain receptors have been developing for weeks (week 7).BY 15 WEEKS: All of the unborn baby’s major organs have formed.The unborn baby has a fully developed heart that pumps 26 quarts of blood per day.The unborn baby can feel pain.Surgeries have been successfully performed on unborn babies at this age.THE NUMBERS: According to a recent poll, 80% of Americans think abortion should be illegal in the third trimester.According to a new Marist/Knights of Columbus poll, 61% of Americans say abortion should either be: Illegal - 17%;Left be up to the states - 44%.The majority of Americans hold strong opposition to Congressional Democrats and the Biden administration’s support of taxpayer-funded abortions: 58% oppose taxpayer dollars funding abortions in the U.S.77% oppose taxpayer dollars funding abortion in other countries.63% of Americans, including 42% of Democrats, oppose new federal rules that allow abortion pills to be sent through the mail without an in-person visit to a medical professional.On the government forcing their radical agenda on Americans: Three-quarters say healthcare professionals who have religious objections to abortion should not be forced to perform them.54% say organizations who have religious objections to abortion should not be legally required to provide insurance coverage for abortion.DEMOCRATS FILIBUSTER HYPOCRISY:  In 2017, 33 Democrat Senators signed a letter urging the Senate leadership to preserve the filibuster including Vice President Kamala Harris. The filibuster is the only reason millions of Americans have a voice in the current government.Democrats used the filibuster 327 times in 2020 alone.For decades, Joe Biden stood against eliminating the filibuster say it would have drastic consequences: In 2020, during an interview with the New York Times editorial board, Biden said he did not support abolishing the legislative filibuster. In 2019, Biden told reporters that ending the filibuster was “a very dangerous thing to do” adding that it had been used by Democrats “the whole time” Republicans were in power. In 2005, Biden said that ending the “would undermine the protections of a minority point of view” and have “long term consequences.”Vice President Kamala Harris has expressed support for the filibuster in the past: In 2019, Harris said she had a “practical concern” if the filibuster were not in place during an interview. In 2017, Harris along with 31 other Democrat senators signed a letter urging the Senate leadership to preserve the 60-vote threshold. In 2017, Harris praised Senator Jeff Merkley’s filibuster of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has voted OVER 500 times to sustain a filibuster during his 23 years in the Senate.  In 2005, Schumer said that it would be a “doomsday for democracy” if the Senate changed its rules on the filibuster.

Small Businesses

After the pandemic ravaged small businesses across the country, vaccines and a reopening economy promised to help Main Street get back on its feet. But Democrats’ policies created inflation and a labor shortage that are now getting in the way of a full recovery. Worse, President Biden is still considering raising taxes on small businesses.

Small businesses are “looking at a slew of tax increases that would hit them from every angle”:

  • One study shows that President Biden’s tax hikes would be shouldered by Main Street businesses and working families, and destroy at least 138,000 U.S. jobs.
  • Democrats want to gut the Republican-created small business deduction that helped wages grow at a faster pace and led to a jobs boom for minority workers, individuals without a high school degree, Americans with disabilities, and women of color. 
  • Democrats also seek to impose huge tax bills on small businesses and family farms when loved ones pass away. Democrats’ supercharged death tax targets family-owned businesses and farms, costs at least 1 million jobs, slashes paychecks for workers by $32 for every $100 in revenue raised, and shrinks our economy by $100 billion over the next decade. Small businesses suffer under Bidenflation: 

  • More than 60 percent of American job creators are worried Bidenflation will close down their business, a recent poll finds, with the vast majority noting that they’ve been forced to raise their prices in the last year. 
  • Another study showed that small business optimism is at record lows and recent polling from the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council shows that only 9 percent of small businesses say President Biden’s policies make it easy to start and grow a business. 
  • A Goldman Sachs survey of 10,000 Small Businesses found 91 percent of small business owners say broader economic trends, such as inflation, supply chain issues, and workforce challenges, are having a negative impact on their business.

Family paychecks are falling further behind: 

  • A majority of American families’ incomes can’t keep up with rising prices.
  • With prices going up three times faster than paychecks, at least 62 percent of American families say their incomes can’t keep up.
  • Prices are rising so high that Democrats are considering gimmicks like gas cards, despite concerns from some Democrat officials that Biden Bucks “gas cards” could “worsen inflation” without lowering costs.

    This week an inmate lost his life and another was injured at United States Penitentiary Beaumont. Thanks to the quick actions of our brave correctional officers, the incident was contained before more lives were endangered. As I have previously said, regarding the incident on January 31, 2022, instances of prison violence are not always avoidable, but conditions that lead to a dangerous work environment are. I have received an update from the Bureau of Prisons (BOP), and I will continue to monitor the situation closely.


    In my letter to BOP Director Michael Carvajal, I reiterated my concern that chronic understaffing at our facility is a major problem that needs to be addressed by the BOP. Doing so will lead to better and safer conditions for our correctional officers and inmates.

    Well over half of the Americans questioned in a new poll released one day after a leak showed the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade said they hope justices support abortion rights in the U.S. 

    The poll, out Wednesday from Morning Consult and Politico, found that 57 percent of respondents said they hope the high court supports abortion rights compared to 28 percent who hope the justices oppose them and 15 percent that said they do not know or have no opinion. 

    When asked how likely the court is to overturn the landmark 1973 case, 26 percent said “very,” 31 percent said “somewhat,” 18 percent said “not too likely” and 4 percent said “not likely at all.” Twenty-one percent either didn’t know or have no opinion.
