Trump Addresses the United Nations On Tuesday, President Donald Trump addressed the United Nations (U.N.) General Assembly in New York, delivering a speech that encompassed a broad range of issues, including global migration, Palestinian statehood, and ongoing international conflicts. President Trump criticized the effectiveness of the global body, stating that “Not only is the U.N. not solving the problems it should. Too often it’s actually creating new problems for us to solve.”  On immigration, President Trump emphasized the need for heightened border security measures across the world, particularly in Europe, warning of the dangers of drug cartels and the chipping away of culture and sovereignty. Trump then went on to address Palestinian statehood, a process he believes would be “too great a reward for Hamas.” Allowing a “state” that would most likely be run by Hamas, a terrorist network that has violent, anti-American views, is not in the best interest of our nation or the global order. President Trump criticized European leaders for their continued reliance on Russian energy sources, emphasizing that purchasing Russian oil only subsidizes Russia in its attacks on Ukraine. In a similar vein, President Trump encouraged world leaders to purchase American oil and gas, highlighting the strategic role the U.S. plays in global energy markets and vowing never to allow global influences to dictate America’s role in producing fossil fuels. Our world is at an inflection point, and we desperately need leaders who are willing to champion the values that have made our country prosperous and a beacon of hope and liberty for people around the world. I commend President Trump for having the courage to stand up for what is right and what is best for our nation, and I am proud to have him guide our nation toward excellence once again.

TRUMP UN

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump addressed the United Nations (U.N.) President Trump criticized the effectiveness of the global body, stating that “Not only is the U.N. not solving the problems it should. Too often it’s actually creating new problems for us to solve.”

On immigration, President Trump emphasized the need for heightened border security measures across the world, particularly in Europe, warning of the dangers of drug cartels and the chipping away of culture and sovereignty. Trump then went on to address Palestinian statehood, a process he believes would be “too great a reward for Hamas.” Allowing a “state” that would most likely be run by Hamas, a terrorist network that has violent, anti-American views, is not in the best interest of our nation or the global order. Trump’s Border Breakthrough

ICE COPTER

President Donald Trump and his Administration are continuing to make our country safer by combating illegal immigration and reversing the damage done by the reckless border policies of the Biden Administration. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently announced that over 2 million illegal immigrants have either self-deported or have been removed from the U.S. in less than 250 days. DHS also recently published the following statistics, highlighting the success of their immigration crackdown in August 2025:

  • 26,197 total encounters nationwide — 93% below the peak of the Biden administration’s 370,883.
  • 6,319 Border Patrol apprehensions on the southwest border — 96% lower than the monthly average of the Biden administration, and less than the number of apprehensions in four days in August 2024
  • 204 USBP apprehensions per day — 96% lower than the daily average under the Biden administration
  • Zero parole releases — compared to 10,186 released by the Border Patrol under the Biden administration along the southwest border in August 2024

I applaud the Trump Administration, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and the brave men and women in our immigration enforcement agencies for their work in restoring law and order to our great nation. Border security is national security, and as your voice in Congress, I will continue to fight in Congress for policies that protect the American people and strengthen our national sovereignty.

ICE Attacked in Dallas

Dallas Shooting

Political violence continues to escalate in our country. Just two weeks after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, another politically motivated attack was carried out on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents outside of Dallas, Texas.

On the morning of Wednesday, September 24, a gunman opened fire on ICE agents outside of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Dallas. Two ICE detainees were wounded, and sadly, one detainee lost his life in the shooting; however, no law enforcement officers were injured. The gunman took his own life before being captured. Following the shooting, authorities found ammunition used by the shooter with the words ANTI-ICE written on it.

The gunman appears to have been motivated by anti-law enforcement sentiments and the uptick of left-wing political violence. It is becoming increasingly evident the lengths to which the radical left is willing to go to undermine the laws and legitimacy of our democracy. Radicals continue to celebrate the violence carried out against the working men and women of our nation's law enforcement and the political assassination of Charlie Kirk. Meanwhile, ICE is simply enforcing the laws of our nation, while leftists continue to undermine the legitimacy with which these laws are carried out through vitriolic rhetoric and violent behavior. Violence as a form of opposition to the enforcement of our laws will never be acceptable.

The use of extreme violent rhetoric will only lead to more violence and deeper divisions in our country. We must be willing to engage in diplomatic discourse before more lives are lost. We must remember mockery is not strength, and there is no honor in cruelty or cynicism; we must recognize our differences but work to find common solutions to better the lives of all Americans.  I will continue to pray for peace in our country and work in Congress to bring solutions for the betterment of all Americans.

COMEY

On Thursday, Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted by a federal grand jury for his alleged crimes of lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional proceeding in the midst of the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. For years, the democratic political elite used every means necessary to try to take down President Trump, and now, they are being held accountable for their lies and misinformation.

Around the District

District 9/26

Over the weekend, Team Weber attended a memorial ceremony in remembrance of Charlie Kirk in Galveston County. We continue to pray for his family and for peace in our nation. On Monday, the team attended a breakfast to honor our first responders in Lake Jackson. Later, the team joined the community in celebrating the NASA astronaut class of 2025. The new class of NASA astronauts will play a key role in the efforts to advance deep space exploration and establish a long-term presence in space.

Later in the week, the team took part in the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, where the keynote speaker, Senator Ted Cruz, shared his vision of economic growth in the region. Local helicopter services hosted a piloting presentation, where helicopter pilots demonstrated their hoisting services. Helicopter services are offered at an estimated 30 ports worldwide.

To close the week, the team attended a ribbon-cutting for Zachery Group’s Workforce Planning and Staff Office. Located in Port Arthur, they offer valuable services in engineering and construction to local industry firms. Finally, the Texas Farm Bureau hosted a convention and dinner for members in the Brazoria and Galveston counties. Here, the Bureau highlighted trending issues and the organization's benefits for working families.
