Exposing the Radical Left’s Agenda It’s never been more clear that the radical left is determined to push their agenda at any cost—even if it means undermining the safety of our communities, the integrity of our elections, and the very rights of women and girls. They are more interested in advancing an ideology than in safeguarding the opportunities and achievements of women and girls.

Exposing the Radical Left’s Agenda

Kamala Harris

It’s never been more clear that the radical left is determined to push their agenda at any cost—even if it means undermining the safety of our communities, the integrity of our elections, and the very rights of women and girls. From voting to give illegal immigrants the right to vote to stripping protections for women in sports, Democrats are working against the very principles that make our nation strong. Here are just a few examples of the extreme measures they’ve supported, and the critical bills Republicans have introduced to stop them.

Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act – Our brave law enforcement officers risk their lives every day to protect our communities. But during Police Week—a time when we honor those who serve—148 Democrats voted against legislation that would detain and deport illegal aliens who physically attack our officers. This is a shocking betrayal of those who wear the badge, and it shows just how out of touch the radical left is with the needs of our law enforcement community. Our officers deserve better, and we will not stop fighting to give them the protection and respect they’ve earned.

Equal Representation Act – The census is meant to ensure fair representation for American citizens, but in a stunning move, 202 Democrats voted against a bill that would ensure only U.S. citizens are counted. This isn’t just about numbers—it’s about fairness and accountability in our government. By counting non-citizens, we distort representation in Congress and misallocate resources that should be going to Americans. But once again, Democrats rejected common sense, choosing to undermine the integrity of our system.

Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act  – The integrity of our elections is paramount, yet 198 Democrats voted against requiring individuals to prove U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Ensuring only citizens vote is a basic protection to maintain the integrity of our democratic process. But for the left, even this reasonable safeguard is too much. We believe that protecting the sanctity of the vote is non-negotiable, and we will continue to fight for secure and fair elections.

H.J. Res 165— This resolution was introduced to protect women from men competing in women's sports and men entering women and girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms. This was a crucial step in blocking the Biden administration’s outrageous Title IX rule. This rule allows biological men to enter women’s and girls’ bathrooms, locker rooms, and other private spaces, under the guise of "gender identity.

Instead of standing up for the rights of women and girls, every single House Democrat voted in support of this rule, endorsing policies that defy common sense and put the safety and privacy of women at risk. Here’s what their extreme social agenda looks like in practice:

  • Allowing men to compete in women’s sports, stripping young girls and female athletes of the fairness and opportunities they’ve worked so hard to achieve.
  • Forcing men into women’s bathrooms and locker rooms, violating the privacy and safety of women and girls.
  • Requiring women’s dormitories to house biological men, disregarding the concerns and comfort of female students.
  • Demanding that Americans adopt their controlled language, where you must address these individuals based on their chosen identity, or face repercussions.

This is the left’s radical social agenda in full display. They are willing to sacrifice women’s rights and safety to promote a political ideology that ignores biological and social realities. Every. Single. Democrat. voted for this harmful agenda, showing clearly where their priorities lie—and it’s not with protecting our daughters or upholding women’s rights.

H.R. 192 - Blocking Non-Citizens from Voting in D.C. – In yet another stunning move, 143 Democrats voted to allow illegal immigrants the right to vote in Washington, D.C. elections. This is not only a slap in the face to American citizens but a dangerous step toward diluting the voices of those who are rightfully eligible to vote. Democrats continue to prioritize non-citizens over the very people they are supposed to represent.

Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act – Border Patrol agents like Agent Raul Gonzalez put their lives on the line every day to protect our borders and keep Americans safe. Yet, 154 House Democrats voted against punishing illegal aliens who evade Border Patrol. This is about upholding the law and ensuring that our border agents have the tools and protection they need to do their jobs effectively. The Democrats’ refusal to support this measure shows their blatant disregard for law and order, as well as their willingness to enable chaos at our borders.

Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023 – Every single Democrat voted against protecting our daughters in sports. This bill would ensure that women and girls are not forced to compete against biological males in sports—preserving fairness and the rights of female athletes. But once again, the left’s radical agenda takes precedence over common sense and women’s rights. They are more interested in advancing an ideology than in safeguarding the opportunities and achievements of women and girls.

Kamalanomics Continues To Crush Americans

Kamalanomics

American families are having to choose between filling up their gas tanks, heating their homes, or putting food on the table because of failed Kamalanomics. In September, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed Kamalaflation remains a tax on all Americans, and it isn't going away anytime soon. Since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office, inflation has risen by 20.5%. The failed economic policies of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden continue to put Americans last.

MAKE NO MISTAKE: We cannot afford another four years of failed Far Left Democrat policies. We must return to the successful economic agenda Republicans implemented under President Trump which created the strongest economy in history and put Americans first.

KAMALANOMICS BY THE NUMBERS:

  • Inflation is a tax on ALL Americans.
  • When Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office, inflation was at just 1.4%.
  • Since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office, inflation has risen by 20.5%.
  • Americans are paying more for just about everything because of inflation. Since Biden and Harris took office:
    • Food at elementary and secondary schools is UP 69.7%.
    • Eggs are UP 69.2%.
    • Motor vehicle insurance is UP 56.5%.
    • Admission to sporting events is UP 46.4%.
    • Lodging away from home including hotels and motels is UP 42.4%.
    • Gasoline (all types) is UP 38.4%.
    • Baby food and formula are UP 31.0%.
    • Veterinarian services are UP 29.9%.
    • Cookies are UP 29.1%.
    • Uncooked ground beef is UP 28.2%.
    • Bakery products are UP 27.2%.
    • Chicken is UP 25.0%.
    • Airline fares are UP 24.5%.
    • Bread is UP 23.9%.
    • Pork chops are UP 23.0%.
    • Lunchmeats are UP 22.3%.
    • Milk is UP 16.2%.
  • Americans are spending $13,300 more annually to buy the basics because of Kamalaflation, compared to three years ago.
  • Real wages remain lower than when Biden-Harris first took office.
  • Inflation-adjusted average weekly earnings were $397.90 when Biden-Harris took office and are now $384.29 - the Bureau of Labor Statistics adjusts to 1982-1984 dollars - meaning Americans have seen a 3.4% decrease under Biden-Harris.
  • Kamalaflation outpaced wages for a majority of Biden’s presidency – both year-over-year real average hourly earnings and real average weekly earnings were negative for 25 months.
  • Interest rates have remained at a 23-year high.
  • Nearly half of Americans consider themselves “broke.”
  • Two-thirds of Americans report living paycheck-to-paycheck.
  • Americans need a six-figure salary to afford a typical home in nearly half of U.S. states
  • In September, the unemployment rate remained high, at 4.1%.
  • Over the past 12 months, 825,000 native-born Americans lost employment, while 1.2 million foreign-born workers found jobs.
  • There are over 6.8 million Americans who are unemployed which is up from a year ago at 6.3 million.
    • The labor force participation rate remains well below pre-pandemic levels.
  • In September, the labor force participation rates decreased for the following demographics:
    • Women, 16 years and over.
    • White women, 20 years and over.
    • Black or African American women, 20 years and over.
    • Asian Americans.
    • Hispanic or Latino Americans.
    • Hispanic or Latino men, 20 years and over.
    • Hispanic or Latino women, 20 years and over.
  • Since July of 2023 versus July of 2024, there has been a net zero job growth.
  • In August, it was announced that 818,000 jobs that the Harris-Biden Administration claimed to have created aren’t there.
    • The BLS revised down its total tally of jobs created from March 2023 through March 2024 by 818,000.
    • This included 115,000 manufacturing jobs.
    • The revision is the largest in 15 years.
    • In addition to these revisions, the August jobs report revealed the employment in June and July combined is 86,000 lower than previously reported.
  • The Biden-Harris Administration deserves no credit for economic growth.
    • Republican-led states are leading the way creating jobs and leading economic growth.
    • The latest state jobs report shows that 16 of the top 20 states for  jobs recovered since the coronavirus pandemic began are led by Republican governors, and 16 of the states have Republican-controlled legislatures.

This weekend, I had the privilege of speaking at the International Festival of Languages and Cultures. This event was more than a celebration; it served as a powerful reminder of the strength that lies in our nation’s cultural diversity. I also participated in the 7th Annual Energy Forum in Houston, where I emphasized the urgent need to harden our electrical grid.

Yesterday, I delivered the keynote address at the Process Solutions Summit hosted by Vector Controls and Automation Group, highlighting the critical importance of bringing manufacturing jobs back to the United States and Texas.

Meanwhile, Team Weber had the opportunity to attend the Brazoria County Fair Association's Senior Citizen Day, which was a tremendous success. It was an honor to connect with so many wonderful folks in Brazoria County. They also participated in the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce's Good Morning Mainland Breakfast Networking Meeting. They presented a United States flag flown over the Capitol to the Friends of San Bernard Scholarship Fundraiser, benefiting six deserving recipients. Additionally, in Jefferson County, they attended the Port Neches Chamber Coffee sponsored by First Financial Bank.

It was a fantastic week!

Military Academy Nominations

Military Academy Nominations

For over 100 years our great service academies have produced some of America’s greatest leaders.  Not only are these programs producing military leaders, they are also molding better citizens for America. They prepare our youth to be well-rounded leaders and agile thinkers who will take their lessons of discipline and leadership with them into both military and civilian careers.

One of my privileges as a Member of Congress allows me to nominate candidates for appointment to the U.S. Service Academies.  Every year I look forward to reading those applications.  I am always impressed by the character, selflessness, and -- above all -- the devotion to the ideals of our great nation.

The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.

Each member of Congress may nominate up to ten individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to our district for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

Below you will find all the information  to start the process, including checklists and important dates. This year's deadline is Friday, October 18, 2024. I would also encourage you to watch the videos linked here and here (part II) called “The Five-Pointed Star.” It’s a great overview of what each of the US Service Academies have to offer.

To request a Military Academy Nomination from our office, please contact Jared Bargas, District Director, at jared.bargas@mail.house.gov  or (281) 316-0231 for more information.
