The United States and European Union Reach Massive Trade Deal

EU Deal

President Donald J. Trump just made global history.

This week, President Trump announced a landmark trade agreement with the European Union—one that rebalances the scales and puts the American worker first. After decades of one-sided deals and foreign favoritism, this new agreement modernizes the U.S.-EU economic relationship and delivers long-overdue results for America’s farmers, energy producers, manufacturers, and job creators.

Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, the European Union will now purchase $750 billion in U.S. energy and invest $600 billion directly into our economy by 2028. That’s not just a win—it’s a total shift in global power back toward American strength and prosperity.

As Vice Chair of the Energy Subcommittee, I couldn’t be prouder to see this kind of commitment to American energy dominance. The EU is doubling down on the U.S. as its trusted energy partner—further proof that when America leads, the world follows.

This agreement also eliminates EU tariffs on U.S. industrial goods, opens new markets for our farmers and ranchers, and slashes burdensome non-tariff barriers that have handcuffed small businesses for years. Whether it’s pork and dairy, semiconductors and steel, or digital trade and defense exports—America now has the upper hand.

Other presidents talked about standing up to unfair trade practices. President Trump did it.

He’s restoring our manufacturing base, reducing our trade deficit, and bringing jobs and investment home where they belong—right here in the United States.

Here’s what the Trump-EU trade deal delivers:

✅ $750 billion in U.S. energy exports through 2028—solidifying our role as the world’s energy superpower.
✅ $600 billion in EU investment into American businesses, workers, and innovation.
✅ Elimination of EU tariffs on American-made industrial goods.
✅ Tough new tariff rules to ensure foreign competitors pay their fair share.
✅ Streamlined regulations for small businesses and agriculture exports.
✅ Major commercial and defense deals that bolster U.S. industry and national security.

President Trump’s America First economic agenda continues to deliver real, measurable wins. This historic trade deal with Europe is a clear message: under strong conservative leadership, America will never settle for second place again.

Making American Energy Dominant Again

E&C

Our great nation was built on the promise of affordable, abundant, and reliable American energy. For generations, energy independence has powered our homes, fueled our economy, and secured our national defense. But under the Biden-Harris Administration, we’ve seen a relentless push for heavy-handed regulations and misguided mandates that drive up costs and weaken our energy infrastructure.

As Vice Chair of the Energy Subcommittee, I’m blessed to serve in a role where I can fight every day for Texas families and for America’s energy future. We’ve been hard at work advancing real solutions—solutions that support energy producers, protect consumers, and get government out of the way.

Over the last several months, we’ve held hearings with energy producers and grid operators to make sure the lights stay on and the power remains affordable—especially as the rise of artificial intelligence increases demand on our grid like never before.

That’s why we’ve advanced commonsense legislation to stop the premature retirement of power plants, strengthen baseload power from coal, natural gas, and oil, and speed up the permitting process for new energy projects.

We’ve also rolled back several Biden-Harris regulations on appliances and equipment—rules that raised costs, lowered quality, and made absolutely no sense for American families.

This is how we get America back on track: by restoring energy dominance, cutting red tape, and standing up for hardworking Americans—not radical climate mandates.

Signed into law: H.J.Res. 20, to undo burdensome regulations on gas-fired instantaneous water heaters implemented under the Biden-Harris Administration.

Signed into law: H.J.Res. 24, to reverse cumbersome mandates for walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers implemented by the Biden-Harris Administration.

Signed into law: H.J.Res. 42, to get rid of restrictive, mandated standards for appliances at the direction of the Biden-Harris Administration.

Signed into law: H.J.Res. 75, to cut red-tape implemented by the Biden-Harris EPA that put burdensome regulations on commercial refrigerating projects, stifling American industry.

Passed by the House: H.R. 3657 , the Hydropower Licensing Transparency Act, to amend the Federal Power Act to require the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to annually submit to Congress a report on the status of ongoing hydropower relicensing applications.

Reported Out of Committee: H.R. 3616, H.R. 1047 , H.R. 3632, H.R. 3638, H.R. 3157 , H.R. 3628, H.R. 3015, H.R. 3617 , H.R. 3109, H.R. 3062, H.R. 1949, and H.R. 3668, to support the production of affordable and reliable baseload energy

sources including coal, oil, and natural gas.

Around the District

Around the District

This past week, I had the privilege of traveling across the 14th Congressional District. I met with local leaders, honored public servants, and heard directly from the hard-working men and women who keep Southeast Texas strong.

We kicked off the week in Port Arthur, where I met with the Jefferson County Mayors to discuss the challenges and opportunities their communities are facing. From infrastructure to economic development, these leaders are working tirelessly to improve the quality of life for their residents. I’m proud to stand with them.

While in Port Arthur, I had the solemn honor of presenting a copy of the Congressional Record to the Shelton family in memory of the late Chester A. “Pete” Shelton, a decorated Army veteran, longtime Beaumont fire chief, and dedicated public servant at the Port of Beaumont. Pete’s legacy of service and integrity continues to inspire us all.

I also sat down with the outstanding police chiefs and marshals from Jefferson and Orange Counties. We discussed local crime trends, public safety concerns, and my strong support for the recently enacted no tax on overtime for our law enforcement officers. These men and women put their lives on the line every day, and I will always fight to ensure they are respected, supported, and never taken for granted.

In Beaumont, I had the opportunity to visit the city’s Real Time Crime Center, where cutting-edge technology is helping law enforcement respond faster and smarter to threats. It is a great example of how innovation and a commitment to public safety go hand in hand.

I also stopped by the Lamar Institute of Technology, where President Valentine and his incredible faculty walked me through their hands-on training programs. From process technology to public safety, LIT is preparing the next generation of skilled workers right here in our district to step directly into high-demand careers. That is what I call Texas grit in action.

In Texas City, I toured the Marathon Refinery, one of the most advanced energy facilities in the nation. It is a critical piece of America’s energy independence and a major job provider for our region. We must never lose sight of how important domestic energy production is, not just for our economy, but for our national security.

Later in the week, I joined local business owners at the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Coffee at the Park. It was a great chance to hear directly from our small business community, the backbone of our economy, about how federal policies are affecting them on the ground. Their message was loud and clear: Washington needs to get out of the way and let Texans do what we do best—work hard, build strong families, and grow businesses.

Finally, I met with the mayors of Galveston County to continue our dialogue on coastal resilience, housing, and long-term planning. As always, I appreciate their partnership in serving the people of the Texas Gulf Coast.

Each stop reminded me how blessed we are to live in a district full of patriots. Men and women who love their families, take pride in their work, and never back down from a challenge. It is an honor to represent you in Congress, and I will keep fighting every day to make sure your voice is heard loud and clear in Washington.

God bless Texas, and God bless the great folks of TX-14.
