September 11, 2001: We Will Always Remember 25 years ago, evil struck our homeland on a September morning we will never forget. On September 11, 2001, our nation was viciously attacked, and nearly 3,000 innocent lives were stolen from us. Our enemies sought to strike fear into our hearts, bring America to her knees, and break our resolve. They failed. America is one nation under God. We do not bow. We do not surrender. And we do not let evil bully us into submission. In the hours and days that followed, we were identified by only one thing. We were Americans. We stood shoulder to shoulder under one flag. We prayed for our country, helped our neighbors, and united in defense of the nation we love. Twenty-five years later, we remember the brave souls who ran toward the fire while others were running to safety. We remember the first responders who gave everything they had that day. We remember the men and women who answered our nation’s call and carried the fight to our enemies in the years that followed. Above all, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken far too soon. America was attacked. America was wounded. But America was never broken. Our enemies learned that when you come after the United States of America, you face a nation of patriots ready to stand and fight for the country they love. Twenty-five years later, we will never forget. We will never bow to those who hate our freedom. And we will always stand up for our fellow Americans and the greatest nation on God’s green earth. May God bless the families of the fallen. May God bless those who answered the call. And may God continue to bless the United States of America.

September 11, 2001: We Will Always Remember

25 years ago, evil struck our homeland on a September morning we will never forget.

Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant

One year ago, we lost a conservative leader, a follower of Christ, a devoted husband and father, a beloved son, and a proud American patriot who was never afraid to stand up and speak out for what he believed.

Charlie Kirk helped spark a resurgence in the conservative movement, especially among young Americans. The evil that sought to silence his voice only inspired millions more to raise theirs. Charlie was doing exactly what he loved, standing on a college campus, speaking his mind, defending his beliefs, and engaging directly with students, when a deranged assassin took his life at just 31 years old.

Charlie understood truths the radical Left wants Americans to forget. America is worth fighting for. Our Constitution is worth defending. Faith is the foundation of our families, our communities, and our nation. And our God-given freedoms are never ours to surrender.

You did not have to agree with Charlie or share his views to recognize what the evil that took his life represented. In America, political violence has absolutely no place in a nation where our Constitution protects our God-given right to speak our minds and stand up for what we believe.

Scripture reminds us, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” -- John 1:5

In the days and months that followed, Americans proved that darkness had not overcome the light. They stood taller, spoke louder, and refused to apologize for loving God, loving their country, defending our Constitution, and believing in the American way of life. The movement Charlie helped build did not disappear with his death. Instead, millions of Americans became even more determined to carry that torch forward.

Brenda Gail and I continue to pray for Charlie’s family, especially his wife, Erika, and their beautiful children. We pray they continue to feel the tremendous love surrounding them and, above all, the comforting hand of Almighty God guiding them through the days and years ahead.

Though Charlie’s earthly voice has fallen silent, his message lives on. May we never be afraid to speak the truth. May we never surrender the freedoms God gave us.

2026 Hero of Main Street Award

NRF Award

I am honored to receive the National Retail Federation’s 2026 Hero of Main Street Award!

Created in 2013, this award recognizes a bipartisan group of lawmakers for supporting the retail industry. Awardees are selected based on key votes, bill sponsorships, and advocacy for the policies that help retailers grow, create jobs, and serve their communities.

Retail is the nation’s largest private-sector employer, and its impact here in Texas is hard to overstate:

  • 445,000 retail establishments operate across the Lone Star State.
  • 5.3 million Texas jobs are supported by retail, including 3 million direct retail jobs.
  • $117.4 billion in direct labor income is earned by Texans working in retail.
  • $482.9 billion in economic activity is generated throughout our state.

As a former small business owner, I know firsthand what it takes to serve customers, keep the doors open, and build something that lasts. Main Street businesses are woven into every community across TX-14, and when they succeed, our entire community wins.

While I am grateful for this recognition, the real heroes of Main Street are the hardworking Texans who unlock the doors each morning, serve their neighbors, and keep our local economies moving. I will keep fighting to lower their costs, cut unnecessary red tape, and keep Texas the best place in America to start and grow a business!

Holding Iran Accountable

Kharg

On September 5, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched ballistic missiles toward two U.S. Navy warships patrolling regional waters. An American aircraft carrier and guided-missile destroyer successfully evaded the attacks, and thankfully, no American personnel were harmed.

The United States responded with force. U.S. Central Command struck three Iranian crude oil carriers tied to the IRGC. American forces permanently disabled the M/T Downy off the coast of Kharg Island and the M/T Stark 1 near Jask. CENTCOM also destroyed the M/T Kylo, also known as the Noxen, in the Gulf of Oman after directing its crew to abandon the vessel.

Kharg Island has long been the heart of Iran’s oil-export infrastructure, handling roughly 90 percent of the country’s crude exports. Those shipments have since been severely disrupted by the U.S. blockade. According to CENTCOM, the three tankers were part of a multibillion-dollar shadow network used to fund the IRGC and its regional proxies.

The United States' message is clear. Attacks against American service members and our military will have consequences. Our brave men and women in uniform should never be used as target practice by the Iranian regime, or anyone else.

The United States must remain resolved in protecting our troops, defending our interests, and ensuring every adversary understands that attacks against Americans will not go unanswered.

There’s an old saying that everything is bigger in Texas, and I’d argue that includes the spirit to serve within Team Weber!

We kicked off the week in Beaumont with the Beaumont Police Department and Police Chief Ocnaschek at their community coffee event. As someone who will always back the blue, we are grateful for their service and sacrifice!

Team Weber was also proud to attend The Mountain’s “Hiking the Mountain” luncheon, which brought together community leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers committed to serving their neighbors and strengthening our community.

We rounded out the week at College of the Mainland for the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of its new Public Safety Careers Building. This new facility represents an investment in the next generation of men and women who will answer the call to serve and protect our communities.

Whether they’re wearing a badge, lending a helping hand to a neighbor, or preparing the next generation to serve, TX-14 is full of hardworking folks who make our communities mighty special places to call home.
