Before we dive into this week's newsletter, I wanted to share a quick look at what YOUR Texas 14th District Congressman was working on in DC this week: - Submitted an amendment to include the National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act in the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act.
- House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Environment hearing, "Trash to Treasure: Examining Legislation to Support Domestic Critical Mineral Recovery and Recycling."
- Earned the Defender of Limited Government Award for voting record supporting limited government and constitutional principles.
- House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy Markup, including advancement of my bill, H.R. 9338, the Pipeline Safety Authorization Act of 2026.
- House Science, Space, and Technology Committee Full Committee Markup on artificial intelligence legislation.
- House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations hearing, "State Medicaid Program Integrity: Examining Fraud Risks and Oversight Deficiencies."
As always, it is an honor to serve the people of Texas' 14th Congressional District.

This week, I was honored to receive the Defender of Limited Government Award in recognition of my 2025 voting record in Congress.
While I am grateful for the recognition, this award is really a reflection of the work being done to defend the conservative principles Texans sent me to Washington to uphold.
Some examples of my record include:
- Fighting back against socialism and defending individual liberty, private property, and free enterprise (H.Con.Res. 58).
- Blocking CCP-linked money and contracts from entering K-12 public schools (H.R. 1005).
- Recovering taxpayer dollars lost through pandemic unemployment fraud (H.R. 1156).
The fight for limited government never ends, and I look forward to continuing that work on behalf of the people of Texas' 14th Congressional District.

This week, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy advanced my bill, H.R. 9338, the Pipeline Safety Authorization Act of 2026.
Pipeline safety is an American issue. That is why I worked closely with members on both sides of the aisle, industry stakeholders, and federal regulators to develop a strong bipartisan bill that improves safety while ensuring our nation's energy infrastructure remains reliable.
My legislation would:
- Reauthorize the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's (PHMSA) Office of Pipeline Safety for the next five years.
- Provide PHMSA with the resources necessary to oversee and safeguard more than 3 million miles of pipeline infrastructure nationwide.
- Strengthen damage prevention efforts and promote best practices across state pipeline safety programs.
- Ensure pipeline safety regulations remain focused on improving safety outcomes for the American people.
For communities along the Texas Gulf Coast, this legislation is especially important. Texas' 14th Congressional District produces and moves more energy than just about any other district in the United States. Whether that energy originates in the Permian Basin or from our neighbors to the north in Canada, producing it is only half the battle. We must also ensure it can be delivered safely and reliably to the families, businesses, and industries that depend on it every day.
I am proud that H.R. 9338 advanced with bipartisan support, and I look forward to continuing its progress through Congress as we work to strengthen pipeline safety and support American energy dominance.

Summer is flying by, and Team Weber has been busy sweeping through all four counties of Texas' 14th Congressional District!
Team Weber kicked off the week in Dickinson for the ribbon cutting of Higher Up Texas. Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, and we were proud to help celebrate this exciting milestone and welcome another local business to the district.
The team also joined community leaders and partner organizations in Brazoria County for a Long Term Recovery Committee meeting focused on disaster preparedness and coordination. While we all hope the next emergency is far away, strong communication and planning today help ensure our communities are ready when challenges arise tomorrow.
Finally, Team Weber had the privilege of attending a Naturalization Ceremony in Beaumont. Watching individuals take the Oath of Allegiance and officially become citizens of the United States is always a powerful reminder of what makes our nation so special. For nearly 250 years, America has long welcomed those who follow the law, embrace our values, and seek the blessings of liberty through the legal immigration process. Congratulations to our newest Americans as they begin this exciting chapter of their lives! |
- H.R.9308 - To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide tax relief relating to public safety officers' death benefits, and for other purposes.
- H.R.9211 - To strengthen Federal efforts to counter antisemitism in the United States and protect the Jewish community.
- H.R.9154 - To direct the Secretary of Commerce to develop a methodology for identifying country of origin of shrimp, and for other purposes.
- H.R.9147 - To amend the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 to modify the duties of the Special Presidential Envoy for the Abraham Accords, Negev Forum, and Related Normalization Agreements, and for other purposes.
- H.R.9146 - To increase penalties for the sexual exploitation of children.
- H.Res.1338 - Supporting the designation of June as Family Month.
