For more than 100 years, our great service academies have produced some of America’s greatest leaders. These programs not only develop military leaders, but also mold better citizens for our nation. They prepare young people to become well-rounded leaders and agile thinkers who carry the lessons of discipline and leadership into both military and civilian careers.

If you know an eighth grader or high school student who is interested in serving our country, I encourage you to have them join us for our annual Service Academy Day. Students and their families will have the opportunity to learn about the nomination process and connect with congressional representatives, Service Academy admissions officers, and ROTC program leaders. One of my greatest privileges as a Member of Congress is nominating candidates for appointment to our U.S. Service Academies. Each year, I look forward to reading their applications, and I am always impressed by their character, selflessness, and, above all, devotion to the ideals of our great nation.

Congressional nominations are required for four of the five U.S. Service Academies:

• The U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York
• The U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland
• The U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado
• The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York
• The U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, does NOT require a congressional nomination.

Below, you’ll find everything needed to begin the application process, including checklists and important dates. This year’s deadline is Friday, October 23, 2026.

This week, I joined Real America’s Voice to discuss why we must ensure Sharia law never gains a foothold in the United States and why Republicans must pass the key legislation the American people entrusted us to deliver. In Texas and across America, the Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and our nation’s Christian principles are worth defending.

The American people gave Republicans control of the House, Senate, and White House because they wanted results, and we cannot afford to waste this opportunity.

One of those priorities is protecting the integrity of our elections. I have voted for the SAVE America Act every chance I’ve had, whether as a stand-alone bill or part of a larger legislative package. Only American citizens should vote in American elections. We require identification for countless parts of everyday life, and protecting one of our most sacred rights should be no different.

As I said during the interview, “I’m sorry if you don’t like history, but that’s a true fact.” America was shaped by Judeo-Christian values, and we should never be afraid to acknowledge that simply because it makes someone uncomfortable.

This concern is nothing new for me. When I served in the Texas House, I fought to ensure that foreign law, including Sharia law, could never take precedence over Texas law or our Constitution. Back then, I was told we didn’t need to fight that battle. Well, I’m no fortune teller, but something tells me I saw this coming.

Whether we are defending the Constitution, protecting the integrity of YOUR vote, or advancing the agenda the American people overwhelmingly elected us to deliver, now is not the time to take our foot off the gas. The clock is ticking with 80 days left.

Let’s get back to work and get the job done.

President Trump is once again delivering on his promises to the American people by protecting our children, defending parents’ rights, and putting an end to the wasteful spending of YOUR hard-earned tax dollars.

This week, the Trump Administration finalized a rule ending federal Medicaid and CHIP funding for gender-transition surgeries, puberty blockers, and hormone treatments for minors. Beginning in October, taxpayers will no longer be forced to fund procedures and treatments that threaten the health and innocence of our children.

Here in Texas, we have already led the charge to protect our children from irreversible medical procedures. In 2023, the Texas State Legislature passed S.B. 14, prohibiting gender-transition surgeries, hormone treatments, and puberty blockers for minors. The law also prevents Texas Medicaid, CHIP, and other public funds from paying for these procedures, which will now also be ineligible for federal Medicaid and CHIP funding.

Texas has continued enforcing these protections and holding institutions accountable. Earlier this year, state officials reached a settlement with Texas Children’s Hospital following an investigation into allegations that prohibited gender-transition treatments were improperly billed to Texas Medicaid.

Now, President Trump is taking this fight nationwide. Parents, not government bureaucrats, should have the strongest voice in decisions affecting their children, and hardworking Americans should never be forced to foot the bill for life-altering procedures on minors.

I will continue working alongside President Trump to protect our children, defend parents’ rights, rein in wasteful spending, and ensure YOUR hard-earned tax dollars are used responsibly.
